New Prints

Took an awesome intro to printmaking class this semester. Here are some of my paints. Our first project was a linoleum cut. I did a print based on a Aesop fable. Printed on Japanese rice papers.
"Fawn and his Mother" Linoleum print '13

Our next two projects were copper plate etchings. We started with a drypoint etching. I made a lovely little victorian wedding portrait of my friends cat and mine. For our second etching we used acid to burn our copper plates. I again did a illustration based off another Aesop fable. Printed on Rives BFK.

Our next printing project was mono type prints. I did a collection of studies of burlesque and pinups. Each is one of a kind (mono) and can't be recreated. Printed on Rives BFK
"Vixen" Monoprint '13

Our final assignment was silk screen prints. I did an illustration on two of my favorite smugglers. Printed on French Paper.

I also took the first class being offered in the new letter press studio this year. We worked on universal Vandercook printing press, using set type and linoleum cuts. Our final project was to create a unique broadside self promotion. Printed on French Paper.

Over all it was a great night!

You can check it out on Etsy!

First I have my Wampa piece. " Hungery Wampas" Its a paper cut pop out piece, in a shadow box. Its one of a kind. I dont plan of making reproductions of this work.

Here we have my Salacious Crumb piece. Titled "Crumb" I used coffee to stain the paper, next i layed down watercolor for Crumb. The outlines are inked with a quill. And for C3POs head i layered metallic gold color pencil under gold acrylic. I have the original up for sale on etsy, but i can also get prints made for anyone interested.

Here is my Rancor piece. "I cried when the rancor died" I actually did this piece over a year ago for myself, but it just seemed so perfect for the show. I started off staining the paper with coffee. I layed down the watercolor and outlined in ink and quill. I added white color pencil in some places. I also can have prints made of this piece if anyone is interested. The original is also listed on etsy for sale.
Original for sale!

Here on etsy!

Finally we have my vixens! "The Ladies" as I call them. They are a set of three pinups. All done in acrylic, gouache, gesso and ink. They are available on etsy as a set. But I will soon have them separate prints.

If you were interested in anything here, you can send me an email at jacquelinehelwig@gmail.com for more info or check out the pieces on my etsy store. May the Force be with you all!
